What is White Spirit used for?

Usually to make paint, or serve as lubricant. Definitely not for drinking, as some customer will think the word spirit = liquor.

Purpose of White Spirit

As a thinner – add to paint or varnish as required to desired consistency or according to paint manufacturers instructions. In households, white spirit is commonly used to clean paint brushes after use, to clean auto parts and tools, as a starter fluid for charcoal grills, to remove adhesive residue from non-porous surfaces, and many other common task. In screen printing (also referred to as silk-screening), mineral spirits are often used to clean and unclog screens after printing with oil-based textile and plastisol inks. They are also used to thin inks used in making monoprints.

What is the difference between white spirit and turpentine ?

Turpentine is made from pine trees. White spirit is made from petroleum. Depending on the application, it is not entirely replicable.

Can you drink white spirit ?

No, its not even alcohol.

Are white spirits and methylated spirits the same ?

It is totally different thing. Methylate spirit is more like ethanol

How do you clean with white spirit ?

For paint brush, just soak the brush into the white spriit for 15min, the white spirit will vanish the paint.
